Essence
“Essence” is an A5 booklet that reflects who I am on a deep level.
Creating it was a truly moving experience.
My images explore material, gesture, and sensitivity. Each photograph reveals something that moves me a detail, a texture, a fragment of myself. This booklet offers a glimpse into what drives me, while remaining fragile and raw.
I would like to keep creating booklets in which the physical medium engages directly with my sensitivity. To handle, touch, and feel what is already difficult to express — or even to accept — adds an almost ironic and poetic dimension to my work.
Finding what truly moves us and what defines us is not easy. In a society filled with expectations and points of reference, we are both guided and left on our own. This contradictory freedom makes each discovery of the self both fragile and precious. “Essence” is an attempt to capture those fragments, to reach towards what escapes us and yet quietly shapes who we are.
JI invite you to discover this project through these few photographs.
A fragment of myself that I chose to share.
